Music Camp
Calling all young vocalists...
Camp Info
Vocalize Music Camp is geared towards young aspiring vocalists that are rising 4th, 5th, or 6th graders. The camp functions in a large vocal ensemble setting most of the day, teaching our students the techniques and skills involved in vocal production, and participation in a two-part choral ensemble. This can be seen as an extension of what they experience in an after-school chorus environment if your child has been a part of that before. At Vocalize Camp we also offer opportunities for students to take a role in playing instrumental accompaniment parts, too, so we cover a lot of the elementary music learning standards! At the end of the four-day camp, parents and family members can enjoy a concert featuring all the hard work they've put in! Of course, with this being a summer camp, we afford opportunities to play outside and enjoy social time and make new friends, too! Each year, the camp is held at Carl A Furr Elementary in Concord, NC.
Typical Day at Camp
During the four days, your child will experience a variety of rehearsal settings between whole group, individual (for soloists), and sectional work. Throughout the day we take vocal breaks, go outside after lunch, play on the playground, and take time to develop rapport with our campers. Rest assured our days are very busy, but we value the much needed time for kids to be kids!
